GirlCode Learnership For 2021

 GirlCode Learnership For 2021

GirlCode is excited to launch their Software Development Training and is offering a learnship for 30 unemployed women.

GirlCode has partnered with AWS to train 30 unemployed women through a 12 month Software Development Engineer Learnership.

It will be commencing on 1 April 2021 and running for 12 months on a full-time basis. You will work on practical projects, learn and practice with relevant tech and tools. Experience how agile teams need to operate in a business environment as well as soft skills to prepare them for the world of work.

What makes this program particularly unique is that GirlCode has partnered with tech startups in which you can get their work experience from.

Requirements

  • Unemployed South African woman
  • Valid ID
  • Aged between 18 and 35
  • Must have a Matric certificate
  • Can attend the Learnership full time at their campus in Midrand
  • Your application does not guarantee that you will be accepted.

The Department of Sport, Arts and Culture invites applications for bursaries from universities for students who wish to pursue studies in heritage related programmes.


Eligibility 

  • South African citizenship 
  • Outstanding / satisfactory academic performance (academic progress report if already at an institution) 
  • Field of study (heritage related) 
  • Financially needy


Fields of study 

  • Anthropology (including forensic anthropology) 
  • Archaeology (marine, forensic, etc.) 
  • Archives and records management 
  • Conservation of the built environment 
  • Conservation and preventive conservation 
  • Collections (cultural & natural) management 
  • Heritage resources management 
  • History 
  • Information Science (specialise in records management) 
  • Museum management and curatorship 
  • Art History and Fine Arts 
  • Courses that contribute to the preservation and promotion of Indigenous Knowledge Systems and S.A.
  • Living Heritage


VALUE OF THE BURSARY 

  • Study fees: The total amount of study fees will be covered. 
  • Books: The total amount of prescribed books will be covered. 
  • Accommodation: R 50 000 maximum amount (NB where applicable) 
  • Meals :R 18 500 maximum amount( NB where applicable) 
  • NB: Funds are payable directly to the higher institution of learning
